Dan + Shay have been preparing for the release of their fourth album, and in a recent tweet, the duo proclaimed that they had “just finished our best album yet.” They shared the news in a tweet on Tuesday, July 6, and they also shared a screenshot of the tweet on Instagram. Many of their fans commented their excitement on the tweet and the Instagram post, and band members Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney also commented their own excitement from their personal Instagram accounts.

“Sometimes I scream in the shower when I think about how excited I am,” wrote Mooney, in all caps.

“I’ve never been more excited about anything in my entire life I can’t wait for ya’ll to hear this,” wrote Smyers.

The new project will be the first album the duo has released since their 2018 self-titled album, which spawned hit singles “Tequila,” “All To Myself” and “Speechless.” Since then, the band has had hits with “10,000 Hours” featuring Justin Bieber, “I Should Probably Go To Bed” and “Glad You Exist.” On June 20, the group’s Shay Mooney made a humorous Instagram reel about the fact that their last album was released three years ago. The singer wrote, “when you realize it’s been 3 years since the last album,” and the video finds him looking shocked while the song “Speechless” plays. The group also hinted at new music with a video post from June 23, in which they sang the chorus of “Speechless.”

“3 years ago we released our 3rd album and this song will always be one of our favorites,” they wrote. “Are you ready for new music?!”

In addition to readying new music, the band is also preparing to go on tour this Fall for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. They will launch The (Arena) Tour September 9 in Greenville, South Carolina.
