Country star Darius Rucker is planning a return to the road early next year, but the man behind hits like “Wagon Wheel” and “Beers and Sunshine” won’t be doing so on massive arena stages. Instead, the also-front-man of Hootie & the Blowfish has booked 12 shows in iconic theaters around the nation.

Calling the “intimate” run Darius Rucker Live, the shows will feature a relaxed setting and give fans an up-close-and-personal look at one of country’s best-loved vocalists. Rucker will kick things off on February 17 at The Met in Philadelphia, and will also swing through New York City’s Beacon Theatre, The Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis, Chicago Theatre in Chicago and more, before wrapping up April 1 at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans. And along the way, Caylee Hammack will open the shows.

“It’s been a dream of mine for a while to bring our show to these beautiful theaters,” Rucker says. “Some of my favorite venue memories over the years are at places like the Apollo in New York or the Royal Albert Hall in London, as it’s just a different experience when you’re that close. With Hootie, we went straight from playing dive bars to arenas, so there are still a lot of theatres I’ve never had the opportunity to play. I’ll just say that this tour will have a lot of firsts, even for me.”

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning this Friday, (November 5), at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster, and Citi cardmembers have access to a presale beginning tomorrow (November 2) at 12 p.m. local time.

The shows arrive while Rucker is in the studio and working on a new album project, which the star notes will be his first studio set since 2017’s When Was The Last Time. He’s already released the Number One hit, “Beers and Sunshine,” and his new single, “My Masterpiece,” is also out now.
