When David Nail set out to record his recently-released studio album Fighter, he never knew what an emotional journey he’d be on. The 11-track record features songs from his highest of highs and lowest of lows with some deeply personal insight into his life. However, the journey was exactly what he needed.

“For whatever reason, in records past, I’d be done with them but I’d always be a little frustrated because I didn’t quite scratch the itch completely,” he told Sounds Like Nashville. “I think this record really sums everything up.”

The album dropped last Friday and is as close to Nail’s life as he could get it.

“I truly believe this album, from top to bottom, is the first time I have been able to tell my story in real-time of where I am right now as an artist, a husband and a father,” said Nail when the project was announced. “I wrote more songs for this album than I have for any of my other three so it’s already more personal. Fighter speaks to my journey, my life and now to where I am personally and professionally.”
