David Nail and Wife Catherine Welcome Third Child

David Nail and his wife Catherine are parents for the third time. The couple welcomed their new daughter, Ellie Britton Nail, to the world on Monday, October 19 at 7:26 p.m, one week after her due date. Ellie weighed 9 lbs., 2oz., upon arrival. The couple’s new daughter joins 4-year-old twins, Lawson Brent and Lillian Catherine. All their children were conceived via IVF.

“Mother and baby girl are both well, and we are just over the moon with this new addition to our family. Her brother and sister are both looking forward to her arrival home from the hospital,” Nail told PEOPLE. “This is our third successful IVF baby, and we thank God for blessing us once again.”

Nail posted a photo of the two of them and Ellie on his Instagram, where he also shared some words about how he feels about welcoming her to the family.

“Words do no justice,” he wrote. “Just completely in awe of my new baby girl. Ellie Britton Nail, you are already so loved. God is great. I’m so proud of Cat. As small as she is, she managed to have a 9lb baby last night. I want to thank everyone for the kind words, and all the prayers.”

Our angel, Ellie Britton, arrived last night at 7:26 weighing in at 9.2 pounds of straight up sugar! My wishes of a VBAC were successful and it was just the most magical experience and proof of a powerful God, whose power is made perfect in our weakness. David was such amazing support and cried harder at her birth than I did. Thank you all for the prayers. She is a dream baby.

The couple, who have been open about their fertility issues in the past, announced the news about their third pregnancy in April.

“After an unsuccessful [in vitro fertilization] attempt last summer, we tried again this past winter and were elevated to experience another miracle,” Nail said.  “We tried so long to have kids before we were blessed with the twins.”
