Dierks Bentley Admits Co-Hosting ACM Awards Is ‘Pretty Crazy’

When Dierks Bentley learned of an open spot to host the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards, he jumped at the opportunity.

The Arizona native is already successful in music and has expanded his reach by becoming a pilot and bar owner, but he’s always looking for something new to do… Enter co-hosting.

“You know, I love challenges. It’s, I’m always up for a challenge, anything. I’m constantly picking things up just to see if I can do them, and I view music that way in some ways,” said Bentley. “I try to challenge myself to make better records. The idea of hosting the ACMs – that’s pretty crazy. Yeah, let’s give it a shot and see what happens. So, it should be a lot of fun.”

The “Somewhere On A Beach” singer can rest a little easier knowing that he won’t be doing it alone. He’s be hosting alongside Luke Bryan, who will host for the fourth time come April.

“I feel pretty comfortable with Luke, obviously, being around him, and I’ve watched those guys the last couple of years, and I think I can get up there and take a shot at it,” Bentley shared.

In addition to co-hosting, Bentley is also up for two ACM Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year.

The 51st ACM Awards will take place on April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will air live at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
