Keeping with his black-and-white theme in tune with his current album, Black, Dierks Bentley released his new music video for his latest single with Elle King called “Different for Girls.”

The video captures the contrasting measures a man and a woman take in order to get over a heartwrenching breakup. Just as the song mentions the emotional tolls that the end of a relationship can take on a girl, the video shows both sides of the breakup between the girl and the boy. While the boy goes out on the town with his buddies and gets himself into a fight, the girl constantly stays attached to her phone and her sadness. Ultimately though, the character development shines a bright light for the woman at the end of the tunnel as she seemingly looks to get over the boy who’s still lusting for her heart.

Bentley and King debuted the video on NBC’s Today as the popular morning talk show got a behind-the-scenes exclusive look at the filming of the video. The country singer and pop-rock songstress both gave their inputs on relationships while talking to Dylan Dreyer for the show.

“It’s about the different ways that the guys and girls handle breakups in theory,” said Bentley. “You know I’d say Elle is a little different from girls. She handles things different probably than the girl in this particular song and I probably handle things differently than a lot of guys do.”

This duet pair, though, has gotten to know one another really well and have established their own friendly relationship with witty banter to boot. As Bentley explained his perspective about the song and each other, King didn’t hold back with her fiery attitude.

“He does it the girly way. I do it the manly way,” she joked.

“Different for Girls” is the follow-up single to Bentley’s “Somewhere on a Beach,” both of which are featured on his latest album, Black. The single is currently playing on country radio and is available for purchase now.
