Dierks Bentley’s 1967 Camero went up in flames on Tuesday night. Dierks took to his Twitter account to inform fans of the bad news.

“met my friend charles kelley at a bar. he wanted to see my new ’67 camero. we walked back outside. it was on fire. not cool.”

Dierks later posted THIS VIDEO with the caption, “some footage from last night. hard to sleep w images of flames coming out from under the engine stuck in head” to document the evening’s events.

CMT’s Alison Bonaguro caught up with Dierks on Wednesday. Bentley told her that he went to Whiskey Kitchen after the Nashville GRAMMY and ran into Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley who immediately asked to see his new ride.

“It was not even a minute after I’d walked in, and Charles and I go back outside and there are flames coming out from under the engine — and wrapping around the sides,” he told Bonaguro. “The valet guy was still in it, trying to pop the hood. My brain was not even processing it. I was in shock. But Charles saw a guy from the bar who had access to a fire extinguisher and said, ‘Get over here.'”

Dierks had only driven the car, which was an anniversary gift from his wife Cassidy, a handful of times.
