Dierks Bentley Is Kicking Back and Letting Loose in 2019

After keeping himself very disciplined when it came to his workout regimen and nutrition in 2018, country star Dierks Bentley is spending his 2019 focusing on relaxing and having fun.

Over the past year, Bentley would spend his mornings working out from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m., he would not eat a lot and he even quit dairy, he said, describing himself as hardcore.

“I look back now like ‘What? Who was I?” Bentley said. “Now I’m drinking a lot, I’m not working out at all and I’m back on my iPhone again.”

The Arizona native gave up his iPhone in favor of a flip-phone to avoid distractions, but his son Knox now uses said flip-phone as a toy. Even though Bentley is not as he once was, that does not mean he isn’t having a great 2019.

“I’m having a lot of fun this year too, so it’s like you gotta find balance between things when it feels right to get into it,” he said. “For me, when I get into stuff, I have to get fully into it all the way.”

Bentley is currently making his way through the U.S. on his Burning Man Tour, which continues all of summer 2019, with support from Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes and the Hot Country Knights. Newcomer Caylee Hammack will join him for the tour’s final weekend in California.
