For country superstar Dierks Bentley, when it comes to Thanksgiving Day, there is only one true must-have for the holiday: a turkey.

“You gotta have a big turkey,” he said. “Thanksgiving is not possible without a turkey.”

Bentley and his family may typically cook the bird traditionally, but that doesn’t mean he’s not willing to branch out on his Turkey day recipe.

“A couple of Thanksgivings ago, we were here in Nashville, we did the whole fry the turkey up, and it was great,” the Arizona native shared. “You really can’t, to me, cook a turkey wrong.”

The country singer credits openness to different styles of turkey to the vast number of county and state fairs he has played throughout his career.

“I’ve seen gigantic turkey legs, you know, I’ve had the flat meat,” Bentley said. “I’ve done turkey every way you could do it. I’m pretty good any way you want to cook it up, but you’ve got to have a turkey for Thanksgiving.”

Bentley recently scored his 19th No.1 with his motivational “Living.” His 2020 plans include opening a new Whiskey Row restaurant in Denver.
