Dierks Bentley Has Two Television Shows in Production

Dierks Bentley is about to make a jump from music to television in a big way. In October 2018, it was reported that the “Burning Man” singer was in the process of developing a new sitcom, but as he recently revealed to Cody Alan, there’s actually two shows on the table.

“I’m working on a couple of shows,” shared the Arizona native.

When asked to spill the tea, Bentley dished on what fans can expect from his new specials.

“One [TV show] is going to be about the Hot Country Knights. It’s more of a ‘Spinal Tap’ meets ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ type of situation,” explained Bentley.

“The FOX show, though, is more of a “‘Cheers’ of Nashville” kind of thing. Of course, you remember the show ‘Cheers’ based out of Boston. This show revolves around a bar in Nashville, and you have this great bar owner who’s seen it all, been everywhere, and is kind of like a Sally Field type character,” he revealed, adding that it will feature musician-based characters sharing stories of the “hypothetical Nashville that we all think about it. Not the crazy busy city we live in now.”

For the projects, Bentley has teamed up with executive producer Jack Burditt. Burditts credits include Last Man Standing, Modern Family, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Mindy Project. Working with a titan of the television business has allowed Bentley to pick up a few tools of the trade.

“I’m learning a lot about the TV business, buts it’s like having a song on hold. You write a song, and somebody puts it on hold, but that doesn’t mean that it will make the record. It’s a long ways to go. We will see!”

No word yet on when Bentley’s shows will begin production.
