They say everything old is new again, and apparently it’s also hip, because the new Dive Motel & Swim Club is the hottest new lodging option in Nashville. The latest project from Urban Cowboy’s Lyon Porter and Jersey Banks, who design, own and operate multi-faceted hospitality concepts in Brooklyn and Nashville, Dive has converted a run-down old motor lodge at 1414 Dickerson Pike into a sexy property that is attracting reservations from all over the country to stay in its 23 guest rooms as well as plenty of locals who want to take advantage of the fun pool club.

Since opening Urban Cowboy as a luxury bed and breakfast in the Lockeland Springs neighborhood of East Nashville, Porter and Banks have proven that they know how to gussy up an old property and make it into a stunner. With Dive, they have turned the fun knob up to 11 as they have reimagined a run-down circa 1950’s motor lodge as a place for the young to let themselves go and the not-so-young to remember their wayward youth. The Dive Motel & Swim Club features several different lodging options including uniquely designed including kings, double queens, pool suites and penthouses. The decor features wild vintage 70’s wallpaper and kitschy wood paneling along with vintage objects like disco balls and leopard skin headboards to help create a unique design aesthetic. Rooms are themed, with names like The Captain’s Suite, The Jungle Room, The Vampire, The Mushroom and more.

The property features a Dive Bar, where guests will check in at arrival. The bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a focus on late night dining. Another highlight of The Dive Motel is their Swim Club with a 60-foot pool, hot tub, locker rooms, a stage for live performances and an open-air boutique curated by Jersey Banks. Locals don’t have to be jealous since they are welcome to join in the fun by buying affordable memberships to the swim club or day passes that will  also be available for travelers who want to escape the heat with a cold beverage poolside. Find out more about memberships and day passes by visiting the Swim Club website.

Not many tourists, or locals for that matter, frequent the stretch of Dickerson Rd. where the Dive Motel is located, but that’s about to change. Just a short drive from downtown, this is rapidly becoming a popular oasis that’s a world away from Lower Broad’s neon honky tonk craziness. Give yourself a break and dive in!
