Dolly Parton Lifts Spirits With ‘Faith,’ Collaborations With For King & Country and Zach Williams at 2019 CMA Awards

Dolly Parton took us to church with her faith-based performances with For King & Country and Zach Williams at the 2019 CMA Awards.

The country legend kicked off the inspiring medley with her duet of “God Only Knows” with For King & Country before transitioning into the acoustic spiritual number, “There Was Jesus” with Williams. But she truly lifted the energy of the room with a spirited rendition of “Faith,” her new collaboration with EDM act Galantis and Mr.Probz. Parton invited a choir to help her get the message across, their presence and voices filling the stage as they sang to the rafters, “When you don’t know who you are / I will find you so easily / Don’t you worry, whenever you need me / Have a little faith in me.”

Parton was pulling double duty as co-host of the 2019 soiree with Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood. In addition to her performance with For King & Country and Williams, she was also a part of the opening tribute to the generations of female artists of country music, singing her hit collaboration originally recorded with Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, “Those Memories of You,” with Underwood and McEntire, among many other hits.
