Nashville is known for a number of things: great music, new restaurants, successful sports teams. But it’s about to become the town of dreams and drama with the creation of Music City.

The fresh reality show focusing on a number of young people trying to follow their dreams of entertainment and happy relationships within the city limits, and got its story running thanks to Adam DiVello, who also created MTV hits such as The Hills and Laguna Beach.

Finding a home on CMT, the show will give an inside look to cast members like Rachyl and Kerry Degman, Sarah Thomas, Jessica Mack, Alisa Fuller and many more characters in the journey to find love and pursue their aspirations in the industry. Although the concept of shooting a reality show was different for everyone involved, the process came out as a positive experience for all and everyone stuck to their true identities in the filming.

“It’s definitely a bit of a risk. You never know what’s gonna happen. You think you’re just living your life out day to day, and the fact that there’s cameras present with that, makes you a little bit of nerve racking, but as long as, I think, everyone is really true to themselves,” Sarah Thomas explained to Sounds Like Nashville during the premiere event.

One thing that sets Music City apart from any other Nashville show is that every scene was actually taped at real locations around town, from fancy restaurants to lowkey recording studios.

“I think that it’s just the all locations we’re at are all Nashville. Whereas Nashville is shown, someone might think, ‘Oh, it’s a set. That’s fake.’ This way they know, ‘Oh, I can actually go to that place.’ And for the people who haven’t been here, or wanna visit, it’s like, ‘We can see. We can see what it’s like.’ And then they kind of get a glimpse of what it is through us, and how we interacted,” Thomas said.

Nevertheless, it wasn’t all fun and games for the cast as they had to get used to the idea of cameras watching their every move no matter how embarrassing it may be.

“The first couple weeks of it was definitely weird. But then they just force it down your throat until you’re just comfortable with it, and it’s part of your daily life,” Kerry Degman admitted to SLN.

Music City sends out its series premiere on Thursday, March 1, at 10 p.m. EST on CMT.
