‘Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas’ Debuts at No.1

Duck the Halls

“Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas” debuted at No. 1 on the Country Albums chart and No. 4 on the Top 200 Albums chart this week with over 69,000 copies sold. The Robertson’s Christmas album, produced by Buddy Cannon (Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire), was recorded at Music City Studios in their hometown of West Monroe, La. and includes family collaborations with special guests Luke Bryan, Alison Krauss, George Strait and Josh Turner.

“We have always celebrated Christmas in a big family way,” shares Jase Robertson. “When I look back as a kid, my fondest memories are all around Christmas time – singing, sharing, laughing, not much crying, just having a big time, playing dominos, so why not have a Christmas album celebrating this special time?”

The album mirrors the Robertson family’s popular television series, showcasing their offbeat brand of humor, reflecting their values, and even concluding with a prayer from Robertson patriarch Phil with closing comments from his son and Duck Commander CEO, Willie.

Every member of the Robertson family took part in the recording of the album, from Uncle Si’s version of “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” to Willie’s “Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas,” which he co-wrote with Dallas Davidson, to Missy Robertson’s beautiful rendition of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and Sadie’s “Away In A Manager” with Alison Krauss.

The Robertsons, Louisiana’s favorite first family, don’t live in the governor’s mansion but in the backwoods, where their rags-to-riches story is still unfolding. A homegrown mom-and-pop operation, Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by fabricating top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood. It has also expanded into a line of products that includes hunting apparel, cooking products, DVDs, CDs and novelty items all bearing the Duck Commander brand. In 2012 A&E premiered “Duck Dynasty,” which features the lives of the Robertson family and their booming family business.
