Dustin Lynch is getting personal on his upcoming fourth album, looking back to his hometown of Tullahoma for a musical self-portrait.

Co-produced by Lynch and frequent collaborator Zach Crowell, the “Good Girl” hitmaker says his Tullahoma project will tap into his real-life upbringing in the Tennessee town known as the home of George Dickel whiskey. The set comes out January 17.

“It’s all about me and growing up in my hometown,” Lynch explains. “Every song on this album points to something that happened to me or my close friends and family, and that’s really cool. I’m very proud of where I’m from, and proud of this record because it will hopefully make my hometown a little more famous than it already is.”

Tullahoma will feature Lynch’s 2018 No.1, “Good Girl,” plus the current single, “Ridin’ Roads,” and the two other tracks released as part of his Ridin’ Roads EP — “Little Town Livin'” and “Red Dirt, Blue Eyes.” The rest of the album promises to find Lynch drawing back the curtain on who he really is — not just on the stage, but off.

“I’ve done a lot more living than I’ve done in the past, because this is the first time I’ve been able to tour and also feel like I have a life outside of that,” he says. “It’s figuring out what I enjoy about life the most – outside of music. The kind of stuff my mom and dad, my family and my friends back home did growing up. Outdoors stuff like hunting and fishing, hanging out in the backyard around a bonfire, just connecting. I long to be that kid again, and I think we all do. You get to a certain point in life and start reflecting on why you’re where you’re at … and I’ve just figured out that’s what makes me tick. That’s why I work hard.”

Having just finished up a supporting run on Thomas Rhett’s Very Hot Summer Tour, Lynch is also revealing the details behind a headlining run to accompany the album release. Dubbed the Stay Country Tour 2020, it will feature more than a dozen nationwide dates in venues of varying size, with most opened by “After a Few” singer Travis Denning. The run kicks off January 30 in Detroit, Michigan, and is currently scheduled to wrap March 28 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
