Dwight Yoakam Welcomes First Child With Emily Joyce
The country singer is officially a dad, y'all!
Dwight Yoakam has a new life moment to add to his list of accomplishments: welcoming his first child into the world.
The country singer and his wife, Emily Joyce, made the big announcement through a statement made by his team on his Instagram account. They shared two photos of Joyce and Yoakam that were taken right before heading to the hospital to deliver their baby boy.
“Like the lyric from the song Waterfall that Dwight wrote for Emily on his 3 Pears album says… Babies get born even in a… Pandemic lock down…,” the post sweetly said.
The couple shared that their son’s name was Dalton Loren Yoakam, and he was born on August 16 at 9:19 a.m. They have yet to share pictures of their new addition, but they received lots of love from fellow country stars.
“My heart is melting!! Beyond happy for you all,” Ashley Monroe wrote with a red heart emoji. Lee Ann Womack mirrored the sentiment, saying, “Fantastic!!!!! So happy for you 3!!”
Yoakam and Joyce tied the knot in March during a private, socially distanced ceremony in Santa Monica, California. They held off on telling the news to fans until May, in respect of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pair had been together since 2010, and got engaged several year before the big day.
This is Yoakam’s first child, and his marriage with Joyce is also his first.
