To show his grief and pay tribute to two policemen that tragically died in a shooting recently, Easton Corbin went back to his hometown of Trenton, Florida, to sing the National Anthem in their name.

Corbin attended the kick-off for the Relay for Life event held back at home and sang the “Star-Spangled Banner” to start everything off on a high note. He also took time after his performance to chat with other folks from the town and get to know what’s changed since he moved to Tennessee.

It was the special honor to the fallen deputies that made Corbin want to come back though, after the two men were shot and killed at a nearby restaurant.

“My thoughts and prayers are with my friends at the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s department. Sending love to the families of Sgt. Ramirez and deputy Lindsey,” Corbin tweeted after he heard news of the shooting.
