Connie Britton and Sarah Buxton Among Primetime Emmy Nominees

Nominees for the 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards were revealed on Thursday and there are a few country connections in the mix.

Connie Britton earned a nod for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series for her role as Rayna James on ABC’s hit drama, “Nashville.” In addition, the song “Nothing In This World Will Ever Break My Heart Again,” which appeared in an episode of “Nashville,” is up for Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics. The track was written by Sarah Buxton and Kate York.

Two other shows with Nashville connections were recognized in the Outstanding Reality – Competition Program category; “The Voice,” which features Blake Shelton and “Dancing with the Stars,” which featured Kellie Pickler and Wynonna last season.

The Primetime Emmy Awards are set to take place Sunday, September 22 in Los Angeles.
