Eric Church unleashed his own personal fire-and-brimstone at the 56th annual ACM Awards, bathing the Ryman Auditorium in red light and the rowdy sound of “Bunch of Nothing.”

Delivering the twangy, bluesy hard rocker with his full band behind him — including fan favorite backup vocalist, Joanna Cotten — Church was locked in from the start. Dressed in a black leather jacket and his signature aviator sunglasses, the hit maker tapped into his inner outlaw for the moment, matching the song’s getting-over-her attitude with a sinister vocal sneer … and plenty of fist-pumping power.

“I know every hole in the Clinch River / And I know how to find them bass / I know how to tune a six string Martin / And kick Saturday in the ass / I know how to make that moon shine / I know you want your sunshine back / I know a whole lotta ’bout a lil’ somethin’, somethin’ / And a whole bunch of nothing ’bout that,” goes the chorus.

“Bunch of Nothing” is featured on heart, the first collection from his three-album Heart & Soul project, and was co-written by Eric Church with Jeff Hyde. Heart is available for purchase now, with & and Soul dropping on April 20 and April 23, respectively. & will be released on vinyl and is exclusive to Church Choir members only.

The North Carolina native also made plans for his The Gather Again Tour. The trek will hit 55 cities across North America before wrapping in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
