Fan Review: Surprise Toby Keith Concert In NYC

Ryan was in attendance at a surprise Toby Keith concert in New York City late last week and was kind enough to share a recap of the event with us…

Toby Keith performed a concert in a small club called the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York City last night. The show was named “Incognito Bandito” as it was a secret. Even on livenation and ticketmaster it was called “Incognito Bandito” and nothing about Toby Keith. I heard about the show through his fan club. Only half of the small venue was filled because of this secret. But the show was amazing as he played covers of blues and jazz songs. He came out to Jonny Paycheck’s song “11 months and 29 days”. He sang classics such as Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine”. He only sang two of his own songs and they were not singles, they were his own blues songs “If You Tryin’ You Ain’t” off his American Ride cd and “Missing Me Some You” off his That Don’t Make Me a Bad Guy cd. The show was about 2 hours and it showed how talented this man is. He knew all the words and he and his band rocked out to all the songs flawlessly. Further, there was announcment before the show that it was being taped for tv so keep a look out in the future.
