Fan Story ~ Steph & Jessica Simpson, Rascal Flatts

One of our readers, Steph, caught the Jessica Simpson/Rascal Flatts show in North Charleston, SC on Saturday night and she was nice enough to write a review and share her AWESOME pictures with us!!…

When I first woke up Saturday morning I thought, “This day is not starting off good, it’s raining”. I received an email a couple days prior regarding the Jessica Simpson/Rascal Flatts concert, stating that parking was limited and to get there extra early, since they scheduled a boat show also for that weekend at the Performing Arts Center. First off why would you do that, when one of the biggest acts in Country Music was coming to the LowCountry????? But anyway, We decided that standing out in the rain at 4:30 when the gates opened until 7 when the doors finally opened was not worth it, because after reading all the reviews I was not really looking forward to seeing Jessica Simpson.

We arrived and was settled inside around 7:15. We met up with my friend Sandy (Fellow NutHouse Luke Bryan groupie) like myself, who drove with her friend from Georgia for the show. She was one of the lucky ones though and was standing in line for a M&G. We had about 20 minutes to kill before the show started, found our seats. Since we ordered our tickets thru the Fan Club we had no idea where we would be, since we had to pick them up at the Will Call Window. Much to our surprise we were 4th Row !!!!

Eight O’clock sharp it’s time for Jessica Simpson. She came out looking beautiful of course (enough to make you sick) in a rather very revealing black dress (wardrobe malfunction just waiting to happen) and these huge stilettos heels (that made me a little jealous LOL). She kicked off her performance with “These Boots” and much to my surprise she was WONDERFUL!!!! I was very impressed with her. Her voice carried thru the complex..and when ever she sang “Angles Instead” Goose Bumps!!! Yes she carried on about Tony Romo when she started to sing “You’re My Sunday” and there was some guy in the front row wearing his Romo Jersey, so of course she had to have a conversation to him. As soon as she got on that topic she went right on to the next song. THANK GOD. But the song she sang that had a lot of us all chatting about while waiting for Rascal Flatts to come on was “Remember That”. She said she wrote that song about an abusive relationship she was in. We were all trying to figure that one out – she was with Nick Lachey for ever and he wouldn’t hurt a fly…Tony Romo ya right..hmmmm John Mayer maybe?????

Anyway back to the real reason why I bought my ticket….Rascal Flatts. The stage was unbelievable and the same as the first leg of their “Bob That Head Tour” in 08. I saw them in Oct, in Columbia SC and this show was so much better. Could be that I didn’t have to sit thru Taylor Swift thrashing her hair around for 40 minutes. But the guys had such great energy and they interacted with the audience so much. Jay was cracking his jokes, Gary was greeting his fans and touched everyone he possibly could. Joe Don was looking good as ever and got a hair cut. They rocked the show for a good 2 hours and played hits from old to new. If you have already seen the show this past year it was the same, but still well worth the money because they never disappoint. They worked every inch of the stage. I will have tons of pictures and video on myspace/YouTube pages so go check them out!!! Check back in February. I will be attending “Evening With The Stars” with Jimmy Wayne, LeeAnn Womack, Richie McDonald, and Lee Brice. I have a M&G so I will have another review posted with pictures and video from that show. Then off to Greenville SC for Luke Bryan. Till then!!
