Five Questions With Austin Webb

Austin Webb

Austin Webb is one of country music’s newest voices. Hailing from Greenville, SC, Webb has been hard at work on his music and recently landed in the Top 40 with his fan favorite single “Slip On By.”

Webb’s music crosses the genre line with what he describes as “country soul.” He’s currently touring the country in support of his new single, “Raise ‘Em Up.”

CountryMusicIsLove recently caught up with Austin to discuss his new single, musical influences and whats on his bucket list. See what he had to say below…

CMIL: Can you tell us more about the story behind your single, ‘Raise ‘Em Up?’

AW: I wrote this fun party anthem with two of my good friends and great writers, James Slater (“Live Like You Were Dying,” “High Cost of Living”) and Erik Dylan (Kip Moore album credits). We were shooting for a high-energy, fun song to compliment the end of my set list.

CMIL: It has a more traditional sound than a lot of what we are hearing on country radio. Is that something fans can expect from the rest of your music?

AW: I would consider “Raise ‘Em Up” a very progressive country song that truly showcases a side of my music that represents my personality. It’s a great song to follow up “Slip on By.”

CMIL: Are you working on a full-length album? If so, what has that process been like?

AW: I am! I have 12 sides cut so far and I’m really looking forward to releasing the album! The process has been more fun than anything.

CMIL: Who are some of your music inspirations?

AW: Kris Kristofferson, Elvis, Motown, and Jason Aldean.

CMIL: What is on your country music bucket list as an artist?

AW: To play on stage with Kris Kristofferson.
