Florida Georgia Line Still Feels the Nerves During Award Shows

The guys of Florida Georgia Line have been to their fair share of award shows throughout their career. Nevertheless, the opening of the envelopes still brings the nerves for them every time.

Preparing for their performance on the 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley admit they get more anxious when it comes to announcing the winners of each category.

“It never fails, our heart, we both look at each other every time and our heart is just pounding out of our chests just like it was the first time we were nominated,” said Hubbard.

This year, Florida Georgia Line is nominated for the Vocal Duo of the Year award, along with fellow artists like Dan + Shay, Maddie & Tae, Joey + Rory and Brothers Osborne. Although they aren’t new to the category, the guys still have those nervous butterflies. Thankfully, they love the anticipation in the air.

“We kind of live for an adrenaline rush and it never fails. We get back stage and our heart’s still poundin’. So, it’s fun. We love it,” said Hubbard.

Guess that’s what the ACM Awards and Vegas are all about: the high stakes and the craziness of the Sin City lifestyle.
