Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line have been entertaining fans and shattering records since they burst on the county music scene with their debut single “Cruise” in 2012. With their unique sound, the duo has managed to have a significant influence on the culture and direction of country music throughout the years, all while earning themselves a massive fan base and many accolades in the process. They themselves have also undergone an evolution in both their music and their personal lives, going from single guys singing good-time tunes, to married men (and Hubbard becoming a father) singing deeper songs about life and love. Throughout all of it, country music fans have been right there along with them on the ride. Here are the Top 10+ Florida Georgia Line songs from the past eight years.

(Arranged chronologically)

  1. “Cruise” — from Here’s to the Good Times

While Florida Georgia Line has had significant hits throughout the years, nothing compares to their very first song out of the gate. When they debuted with “Cruise” in 2012, country radio was buzzing about this new duo bringing a brand new sound and style to country music. With its addicting melody, “Cruise” became an instant hit and shattered multiple records, spending three weeks atop the Country Airplay chart and a whopping 24 weeks at the top of the Hot Country Songs chart. In 2016, “Cruise” became the only country song in history to be certified Diamond by the RIAA, and as of December 2018, it was certified 11x Platinum. It has also sold more than 7 million copies to date.

2. “Get Your Shine On” — from Here’s to the Good Times

Florida Georgia Line followed up their incredibly successful debut single with another radio-ready tune, “Get Your Shine On,” in 2013. This single continued to establish the duo as the summer hitmakers they were quickly becoming. The song was also indicative of the party song culture that was prevalent at the time, with references to girls and alcohol, set to yet another addictive melody with just the beginnings of a pop-influenced beat. “Get Your Shine On” hit the top of the charts in May 2013, and along with its successor “Round Here,” became one of 2013’s hit summer songs.

3. “This Is How We Roll” — from Here’s to the Good Times… This Is How We Roll

To wrap up their debut album cycle, Florida Georgia Line released “This Is How We Roll,” a song released with the deluxe version of their Here’s to the Good Times album. This single continued the good-time country theme of their previous singles with references to trucks and drinking, but this time with the added voice of established superstar Luke Bryan. “This Is How We Roll” was Florida Georgia Line’s fifth consecutive hit, topping the Hot Country Songs chart in March 2014 and staying there for four weeks.

4. “Dirt” — from Anything Goes

In July 2014, Florida Georgia Line kicked off their upcoming Anything Goes album with lead single “Dirt,” which was a bit of a departure from their previous feel-good singles. The song is a more heartfelt tune that finds the duo singing about the “Dirt” that one grows up on in their hometown where so many important life memories are made. The song is nostalgic of hometown memories while also pledging to never leave that sacred place. “Makes you want to build a 10 percent down, white picket fence house on that dirt,” they sing the chorus. “Dirt” was a successful lead in to their sophomore album, topping both the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts and selling more than 1.2 million copies.

5. “H.O.L.Y.” — from Dig Your Roots

Two years after releasing “Dirt,” Florida Georgia Line released “H.O.L.Y,” another heartfelt song that propelled their career forward. “H.O.L.Y.” stands for “high on loving you,” a phrase the duo sings in the chorus. By the time this song came out, both band members were married, and the tune certainly reflects the changes they saw in their personal lives. The duo also released a memorable music video directed by TK McKamy that featured both of their wives. “H.O.L.Y.” brought the duo back up to 1 million single sales. The song also spent 18 weeks atop the Hot Country Songs chart and was certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA.

6. “May We All” — from Dig Your Roots

For their second single from their Dig Your Roots album, Florida Georgia solicited the help of country legend Tim McGraw for “May We All.” In the song, FGL and McGraw take a nostalgic look at all the wonderful moments one may experience throughout life, such as growing up in a “red, white and blue little town” and experiencing that “15 minutes of fame.” Those lyrics about growing up and coming of age are combined with acoustic-learning instrumentation that only compounds the feeling of nostalgia. The song was a success, topping the Country Airplay chart in December 2016.

7. “God, Your Mama, And Me” — from Dig Your Roots

Florida Georgia Line continued their collaboration trend with “God, Your Mama, And Me,” featuring the Backstreet Boys, which was released in January 2017. The song features harmonies from the men as they sing about their wives, assuring them that they’ll never leave. FGL, the Backstreet Boys, and all their wives also appeared in the music video, in which each man does something sweet for his partner. The song took the top spot on the Country Airplay chart and landed at number 30 on the Hot 100 chart, marking the first time the Backstreet Boys made an appearance on that chart since 2007.

8. “Meant To Be” — from Bebe Rexha’s Expectations

Although Florida Georgia Line was the featured artist on “Meant To Be,” which appears on pop singer Bebe Rexha’s Expectation album, it’s difficult to think of the duo’s discography without mentioning this massive hit. Originally released to Top 40 radio in October 2017, the single finds FGL and Rexha trading lines on a catchy, pop-influenced love song. The single became a crossover hit, topping worldwide charts, including the US Adult Top 40, the US Country Airplay, and the US Hot Country Songs (50 weeks). It was also certified 9x Platinum by the RIAA and has sold more than 1.4 million copies as of March 2019.

9. “Up Down” — from Morgan Wallen’s If I Know Me

As if Florida Georgia Line fans didn’t have enough hit songs to choose from in 2017, the duo was also featured on Morgan Wallen’s single, “Up Down,” a feel-good tune about a day on the lake and a night full of partying. The song served as Wallen’s second single and appears on his debut album, If I Know Me. The music video features Wallen, FGL and co-writer Michael Hardy, who live out the carefree day described in the song. The song was a success for both acts, topping the Country Airplay chart and earning double Platinum status.

10. “I Love My Country” — from 6-Pack

After eight years of releasing music, the guys of Florida Georgia Line still have their noses to the grindstone and are still releasing bonafide country hits. That staying power is characterized in their most recent single, “I Love My Country,” which was released in February 2020 and is currently climbing the charts. This song is a return to FGL’s collection of good-time anthems, as they praise everything they love about the country life: country music, fishing, BBQs, and more. The song echos the feeling of their very first single “Cruise,” but also shows the evolution and growth that has occurred between then and now.
