American Idol can do more than make your dreams a reality… it can also find you your soulmate. At least that’s the case for season 16 finalists Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner, who tied the knot on Saturday, Oct. 5 in front of 100 guests in Garrison, Texas.

“We wanted a small, intimate wedding with close friends and family,” Barrett told PEOPLE of their nuptials. “We can’t wait to have everyone we love under one roof to help send us off into this new season.”

The wedding was held at Union Springs and inspired their “rustic” plum and blush décor.

“Texas is such a perfect backdrop for the start of our marriage,” Barrett shared. “The setting of our wedding in the woods really influenced the décor and feel of our big day.”

Notable guests in attendance included their fellow Idol contestants Caleb Lee Hutchinson, who served as a groomsmen, and Catie Turner. Counting On star Jeremy Vuolo (married to Jinger Duggar) performed the ceremony.

As for her gown, Barrett chose a Martina Liana piece and admits that she found the perfect one early on in her search.

“I was fortunate to find one pretty quickly, and I absolutely LOVE it,” she shared.

Guests were treated to an array of food options, with the couple embracing their favorites: Mexican and American. “And, of course, lots of cake,” added Barrett.

The couple got engaged in March during a trip to Los Angeles. The couple booked a stay in the same hotel they met in during Idol. It was during that stay that they went to help a friend with her photography portfolio in the same room they’d first met.

Honeymoonin’ 🍯💗

“She started taking the pictures and then she said, ‘Hold on I need to switch lenses.’ Cade started saying all these sweet things and I didn’t think anything of it because he normally does it all the time,” Barrett recalled at the time. “But I noticed he kept going on and on and then he eventually said, ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’ Then he got down on one knee and he asked and I said, ‘Yes!’”

The newlyweds will kick off married life with a honeymoon to the beach (“We wanted to go somewhere with really clear water and white sand,” Barrett said) before Barrett heads off on tour with Chris Lane this fall.
