Gabby Barrett and her husband Cade Foehner will be celebrating their last Christmas without a baby this year. The couple are expecting their first child, a girl, early next year. Barrett recently shared that she and Foehner are planning a low-key celebration this holiday season.

“Nothing crazy, just probably the regular, baking cookies,” she told media outlets, including Sounds Like Nashville. “I look forward to the very small things. He likes when I make dessert a lot, so we’ll see what happens with that.

“This is our last one together without a baby, so it will be very special for us,” she adds.

Although the couple will not be welcoming their baby girl in time for this Christmas, Barrett is already thinking about what the holidays will look like when their new addition does arrive. The 20-year-old singer says she’s looking forward to passing down the traditions of her family, and there’s one tradition in particular that she can’t wait to do with her daughter.

“A tradition that I did when I was younger a lot with my family was my dad would always pick us up off the floor and put the tree topper on,” she said. “I think that’s a tradition we’ll kind of pass down to her as well. I think it’s really fun. There’s something very special about putting memories and fun ornaments on the tree, but the tree topper is like the cherry on top, so I think we’ll end up lifting her as well and letting her put on the tree topper for our family.”
