Country Music’s Biggest Night turned into Garth Brooks’ biggest night with his huge win as the CMA Entertainer of the Year at the 51st Annual CMA Awards.

Selling out tour dates left and right with his Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood, Brooks earned his rightful place for the top title of the awards show.  This marks the sixth time he has taken home the coveted trophy. Previously, Brooks has won the honor in 1991, 1992, 1997, 1998 and 2016.

“Getting this presented to me by the entertainer of a lifetime, thank you Ms. Reba,” he said. “To all of us, Miranda said it best. Little Big Town said it best. We’re a family. All you guys down here on the front row, we can agree about one thing: let’s all raise and toast everybody on the road. To the most important people on the road, that’s the band and crew that takes us everywhere all the time. I was talking to Kelsea backstage about how we get to do this for a living. The most important thing other than God himself are you — the people that allow us to be in the greatest music ever — country music. I love you guys, we’re a family. Ms. Yearwood, I am yours forever.”

Artists nominated for the big award included Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Eric Church and Chris Stapleton.
