Garth Brooks Duets With Carrie Underwood’s Husband, Mike Fisher

What do you get when you cross a country legend with a hockey star? You get a new bromance between Garth Brooks and Mike Fisher.

Back in January, Fisher’s superstar wife Carrie Underwood posted a video of him singing with Brooks’ hit song “The River.” The video not only caught Brooks’ attention, but garnered an invitation for a duet.

“MIke @mfisher1212!! Bro, that is AWESOME! I HAVE to call you out after that…Nashville is the last city on the American leg of the World Tour…You and me, on stage, The River. You in? love you pal, g” the singer wrote on Instagram.

Underwood, however, was not excited that her hubby was invited to sing with Brooks before she was.

“He’s like ‘Let’s sing together in Nashville when the tour comes here.’ And I said, ‘You cannot sing with Garth Brooks before I do,’” she told Country Countdown USA last month. “When I was 10 years old I met Garth Brooks and said, ‘If you ever need someone to sing a duet with you, I’m your girl.’ So I’ve been waiting for that forever. And my husband who’s a hockey player is gonna sing with Garth? I don’t think so! I might cry if that happens.”

Well, hand Carrie some tissues because the Brooks-Fisher duet has come to fruition.

Last night, Fisher posted a short video clip to his Instagram.

“I’m going to send this song out to my sweetheart, my girlfriend, Carrie Underwood. Carrie, a little song for you…” Brooks says in the clip, before strumming his guitar to “The River.” The video then pans over to Fisher, who joins him for a duet.

Underwood saw the clip and reposted to her own account.

“How is it that my hubby, @mfisher1212 gets to sing with THE @garthbrooks before I do? As payback, I think I’ll try to see if Wayne Gretzky wants to play a pick up hockey game sometime!”

Never mess with a woman scorned, Mike!

Soooo this happened tonight!!!... @garthbrooks is the best!
