Country music icon George Strait has revealed plans for a Minnesota stadium performance next summer, heading to Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium on August 22 with special guests Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town and more.

The Country Music Hall of Fame member is not touring regularly after retiring from the road in 2014, but continues to book large-scale shows such as his ongoing Strait to Vegas Las Vegas residency and a small number of other concerts. Strait, Stapleton and Little Big Town previously shared billing at the 2018 Bayou Country Superfest in New Orleans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and tickets for their Minneapolis date will be available via Ticketmaster starting January 31 at 10 a.m. CT.

Meanwhile, Strait has also announced another round of his Strait to Vegas shows, returning to T-Mobile Arena August 28-29 with special guest Caitlyn Smith. He wrapped up the 2019 dates of his residency in December, and later this week will deliver three sold-out arena shows in Kansas and Missouri — Visit Wichita Presents Strait to Oz at at INTRUST Bank Arena on January 24, and Strait to the Heartland at Kansas City’s Sprint Center January 25-26. His new single, “The Weight of the Badge,” recently became Strait’s 100th entry onto the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
