With the holidays officially arriving, George Strait helped keep Hurricane Dorian recovery efforts top-of-mind on Monday night (November 25) in Austin, Texas, headlining a show that raised more than $1.5 million.

Also featuring Patty Griffin and taking place at Austin’s ACL Live venue, the show included a two-hour, full-band set from Strait as well as an auction, all hosted by the Discovery Land Company Foundation and Driftwood Golf & Ranch Club in support of Abaco relief. So far, the Abaco Relief Fund has directly assisted over 1,000 Bahamian citizens, many of whom lost their homes and livelihoods to the category five storm on September 1. The Discovery Land Company Foundation is dedicated to helping children all around the world.

Described as a frequent visitor to the Bahamas, the cause is a personal one to Strait, who sported a special T-shirt throughout the show. Designed to play off his famous “Ocean Front Property” hit, Strait first introduced it shortly after the storm and it’s now available for sale here for $20, with all proceeds going to the Discovery Land Company Foundation’s Abaco Relief Fund.
