The legendary performer was buried in a private ceremony in his hometown of Delight, Ark. on Wednesday (Aug. 9).

Country music icon Glen Campbell has been laid to rest.

According to an update to Campbell’s official Facebook page, the legendary performer was buried in a private ceremony in his hometown of Delight, Ark. on Wednesday (Aug. 9). The family will host a private memorial in the coming days.

Also included in the update was a message from Campbell’s family, thanking friends, fans, and supporters for their “enormous outpouring of love and support.”

Campbell passed away on Tuesday (Aug. 8) following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. After his passing, many members of the Country music community took to social media to honor Campbell and thank him for his contributions to the genre.

The Country Music Hall of Famer earned 21 Top 40 hits and sold more than 45 million records throughout his iconic career. He is survived by his wife, Kim Campbell; their three children, Cal, Shannon and Ashley as well as his children from previous marriages, Debby, Kelli, Travis, Kane, and Dillon.
