Listen up, Nashville: There’s a new holiday light experience in town. GLOW made its sparkling debut at First Tennessee Park on November 22, transforming the Sounds’ playing field into Nashville’s brightest Christmas experience. With nearly four million lights, plus festive outposts that range from a warm-and-toasty Santa’s workshop to a heart-racing Reindeer Tube Run, and everything in between, it’s an entirely new Nashville-only experience with something everyone in the family will enjoy.

GLOW Founder and CEO Chris Stacey, who also founded the award-winning Rock the Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival, says the idea for GLOW was born when he was randomly seated next to holiday event producer Patrick Wallain on a flight.

“With my background in the music industry and events and his experience, it just took off from there,” he says. “When the members of our team started building the vision for GLOW, we set out to create the event that we’d want to bring our own families and friends to.”

And that’s exactly what they did. At GLOW, guests can wander amongst the magical, larger-than life, lighted sculptures, with a warm beverage in hand, while admiring hundreds of holiday displays, including a brilliant 100-foot Christmas tree—it’s the tallest in the South. When it’s time for a break, Santa’s Workshop beckons as a cozy reprieve. Stop in for a behind-the-scenes look at the elves hard at work (and play), enjoy story time with Mrs. Claus, and visits and photos with Santa himself, or just take a pause and let the little ones pull off their mittens and warm their toes while crafting at one of tables. Or if the kids (and adults) are in need of a little extra fuel, Mistletoe Cafe is the place to be for warm cocoa (spiked with Baileys for the grown ups, if required), holiday snacks, classic Christmas tunes, and holiday movies on repeat.

Like everything else on the field, the Frozen Fortress Skating Rink was designed with spectators in mind. A crystal-clear, three-story-tall frozen fortress anchors the rink, with an elevated platform that rises right up from the center, offering a catbird seat for viewing the skaters as they glide in circles below.

And for the more adventurous, there’s the Reindeer Run Tube Park. Here thrill-seekers can climb high above the stadium seats with tube over arm, and admire the downtown skyline before racing down the 32-foot-tall, 170-foot-long run, with brilliant lights twinkling as far as the eyes can see.

Sure GLOW is set up with family fun in mind, but Blitzen’s Band Box (in partnership with Strategic Hospitality Group) is the perfect place for the 21+ set to sip on custom holiday cocktails while enjoying epic views of millions of lights and the Nashville skyline, along with fire pits, igloos, and themed entertainment – sans little kiddos running underfoot.

Once those beverages have amped up the holiday cheer to a proper level, take a stroll through Winterfest Market, where more than 25 local craft vendors have booths set up with their specialty wares, making it a perfect place to shop for authentic Nashville gifts for that special someone on your list.

From the lights and the tubing to the toddies and the shopping it’s easy to get lost in the splendor of the season and experience the stadium in a completely transformed way. And it’s an experience you can expect to return to the city year after year.

“We have always wanted to activate First Tennessee Park during the holiday season, and GLOW is beyond anything we could have imagined,” says Adam Nuse, general manager and COO of the Sounds. “We look forward to being part of a new holiday tradition that is perfect for families, couples or a night out with friends.”
