Granger Smith and Family Welcome Baby Boy, Maverick
So happy about their new addition!
Granger Smith and his wife, Amber, are proud parents once again after the birth of their new baby boy on August 20 (Friday).
The couple were over the moon about their new bundle of joy, sharing the news with fans on the day of his birth. The country singer even let fans know his name they decided upon for their son after hinting at it weeks prior.
“He’s here! Wow…so many emotions. Maverick Beckham Smith made his debut today. He and @amberemilysmith are doing great 🙏🏼,” Smith said in the Instagram post.
Many of Smith’s friends within the country community congratulated him on the grand occasion, with kind comments coming from RaeLynn, Chris Lane and Lindsay Ell on the arrival post.
The Smith family suffered a tragic loss when their son, River, died following a drowning accident in the pool at their home. The birth of their new baby boy sparked joy for Smith, and shared his love of Maverick on his Instagram profile.
“’I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.’ 1 Samuel 1:27,” he captioned the sweet picture.
Smith announced he and his wife were expecting in an emotional video post back in March of 2021. He detailed the couple’s journey of turning to IVF to get pregnant, which involved jumping over multiple hurdles in the midst of a global pandemic.
“When we eventually settled on the heavy decision to try for another baby, and learned that IVF was our best option, Amber went through the tedious prep process for 3 months,” Smith explained on Instagram. “When we had 2 viable embryos, Covid shut the clinic down and they were kept frozen. After 4 months, the clinic finally opened, they transferred the 1st embryo to Amber and she got pregnant. 9 weeks later, she miscarried. I’ve seen Amber go through so much in the last few years and I watched her yet again with steadfast resilience navigate physical and emotional pain while preparing her body for a 2nd embryo transfer. 4 months later, she was pregnant again with the final embryo…a baby boy.”
This marks the fourth child for the couple; they are also parents to their 9-year-old daughter, London, and their 7-year-old son, Lincoln.
