When fans saw Granger Smith nerd out over cats in the parody video for “I Happen to Like Cats,” they immediately thought, ‘Are you kitten me right meow?’

Setting the scene as a crazy cat man, Smith casually chills out with felines frolicking all around the room and taking part in their silly activities. Not disturbed one bit about the four-legged furries roaming on cat castles and couch pillows galore, the singer jokingly admits to staying home on a Saturday night to sew the pets’ names onto clothing and not finding love due to his passion for his pals.

“I happen to like cats / give me a feline over a canine / they got nine lives / who needs a spouse when you’ve got pussy cats all over the house,” he sings before listing off names of his furry friends.

This isn’t the first time Smith has dabbled within the comedy capacity. The singer tends to dress up in an alter ego by the name of Earl Dibbles Jr. for his live shows. Putting on the redneck persona by shotgunning beers and stomping around in an extra-large pair of Dungarees, Smith never takes himself too seriously in each aspect of his career.

Fans can view “I Happen to Like Cats” on YouTube now, and check out Smith on tour all throughout the spring.
