Greg Bates ‘did it for the boy’ this time!

Bates and his wife, fellow singer/songwriter Shelley Skidmore, welcomed their first child into the world on Thursday (Oct. 19).

Bates took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their baby boy, Bo Rogers Bates.

“At 6:53 AM Thurs morning our whole world changed forever,” Bates wrote. “In the past two days we have fallen in love with this little guy over and over again. God is amazing and we are so thankful for this new addition to our family. @shelleyskidmore you are my absolute hero and I love you more than will ever know for bringing him into this world. Bo Rogers Bates we are so lucky to be your parents.”

Skidmore echoed Bates’ sentiment in her post writing, “Thursday at 6:53am we welcomed Bo Rogers Bates into this world! He is perfect in every way and we are so thankful to our God for this precious gift. I feel like my heart is just going to explode!!”

The couple wed on May 2, 2015 in Skidmore’s hometown of Stanton, Kentucky. They announced their pregnancy in May of 2017 with an adorable snap of their dog wearing a “big sister” collar. Greg and Shlley later revealed the baby’s gender with a “boots and bows” themed gender reveal party.

Greg Bates is best known for his 2012 hit, “Did It For The Girl.” He is currently working as a producer.
