Gwen Stefani Plans Return to ‘The Voice’ for Season 19

Pop star and newly minted country hit maker Gwen Stefani is heading back to NBC’s The Voice this year, joining boyfriend Blake Shelton and the rest of the coaches for Season 19.

Announced Tuesday (June 16) by the show’s social media feeds, Stefani will retake her swiveling chair alongside longtime coaches Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. She takes over for pop artist Nick Jonas after one season on the show, and while there’s no word on an exact date of the show’s return — or if it will continue to be done via video chat due to COVID-19 — the popular show is now on the books for the Fall of 2020.

“Cannot wait!,” Stefani reacted online, with Shelton spreading the news to his followers as well.

The move will mark Stefani’s fourth season as a full time coach on The Voice — and her return to the place where she and Shelton first met in 2014. The superstar couple scored a Number One at country radio with Shelton’s “Nobody But You” earlier this year, and Season 18 of the show was won by Todd Tilghman in May.
