In less than one week, Sugarland fans will finally get their hands on new music from the iconic duo. Debuting on Thursday, Dec. 21, “Still The Same” will be the first glimpse at the tunes the duo has secretly been working on before surprising fans with their reunion at the 51st Annual CMA Awards.
“…We try to leave it better than how we came, don’t be afraid to change / I love you still the same, still the same, still the same / And here we are, we’ve come so far, let’s leave it better than how we came, don’t be afraid to change / I love you still the same, still the same, still the same,” Nettles sings in the commanding mid-tempo song.
“We are thrilled for fans to hear our new music, especially this new single,” Nettles previously shared in a press release. “The title of the song is so meaningful to us as we want fans to know, we are still the same, we are still the same Sugarland they’ve known and loved.”
“We want to finish where we left off. We always knew were going to make music again, so this has been the best of both worlds,” added Bush. “We were able to take time to feed our personal passions, and we’re excited to come back together to create music as a band again.”
Sugarland has been hard at work on their comeback after a five year hiatus, and recently made a number of media appearances to tease their 2018 plans. In addition to releasing new music, the duo plans to hit the road on a new tour after ringing in 2018 with a performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018.
