Hillary Scott Loses Belongings In Bus Fire, Bible Unscathed

Hillary Scott

On Thursday morning, Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott shared a very scary photo… one of a tour bus she, her husband and tour manager were on that had gone up in flames. The group was on their way to Dallas for the 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards and are incredibly thankful they made it off the bus in time.

The singer caught up with told ET Online today, and despite the scary ordeal, is doing very well. “I woke up very, very thankful for, you know, how everything went yesterday. It could’ve been a very different outcome and thankfully everyone was safe and sound, family’s good.”

“I was asleep in the back of the bus, evacuated as fast as I could,” she recalled. “Thankfully I was wearing decent pajamas and then it just erupted. It happened so fast. The first person to show up to the scene was actually the assistant fire chief of the county, which was a true miracle.”

Scott lost several of personal items, including her dress for Sunday’s ACM Awards, but it was what she didn’t lose that caught her attention. “Everything back there — my toiletries, my iPad, a lot of things including a lot of our clothes that we were supposed to wear this weekend — were ashes, disintegrated,” she explained. “And for whatever reason — I firmly believe that God is an amazing God — the Bible was intact and not a page was missing. I can’t really talk about it without crying.”

The singer has replaced her ACM dress, but this is sure to be an experience she won’t soon forget. We’re glad everyone is okay!
