Hillary Scott Calls Her Baby Twin Girls ‘A Double Blessing From the Lord’

Although Scott will head out on tour with Lady Antebellum this summer, husband Chris Tyrell will take on dad duties to his fullest and care for the girls at home.

When Hillary Scott found out she and husband Chris Tyrrell were expecting not just one, but two little ones on the way, she found herself praying that this pregnancy would be a miracle one for the family.

The Lady Antebellum singer admits carrying two babies differs in certain ways than taking on the process with Eisele, but that she always felt way healthier compared to when she suffered from a previous miscarriage. Once they finally made their way into the world, Scott couldn’t help but express joy over her “double blessing from the Lord.” Reality hit, though, when the couple realized they were a family of five now, instead of just three.

“It was emotional, because I’m like, ‘Oh, we’re going to have as many babies in our house as I hoped we would have. It just isn’t in the same timing that I thought it was going to be, but we are going to have our three,’” Scott said to People.

Now that they got accustomed to the idea of twins, and parenting three kids, they savor each and every moment they can together and even get to split time with the babies however they want to.“That first night after they were born [I told Chris], ‘It’s pretty cool we don’t have to share. You can have one, and I can hold one,’” Scott explained. “We can each hold a baby all the time.”

As for work, Scott will spend the summer performing shows with Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood while Tyrrell puts on the Mr. Mom hat and doubles down on the twin care duty.

“I’ve been a bandmate, employee, husband and dad, so I’m okay removing a hat. Besides, when you looked at whether the band could do without me or her, there wasn’t much question,” he said in another People article.

Lady Antebellum will hit the road this summer with Darius Rucker on the Summer Plays On Tour, which fans can find dates and tickets to on their official website.
