How Justin Moore Ended Up with Two 200-Pound ‘Inside Dogs’

“So long story short, we got two 200-pound inside dogs to add to the chaos that already is our lives with a new house, baby number 4 on the way, and a new tour," Moore explained.

Justin Moore has a schedule busier than most. On top of maintaining a successful career in country music, the Arkansas native is busy touring the country, raising three daughters (with another child on the way) and now, has taken on the role of dog owner to two very cute, but very large, Great Danes.

When Moore originally set out to add four-legged furbabies to his family, the real intention was to have outside dogs to protect their growing family.

“We just moved into the house we’ve been building for 15-16 years… just kidding, it’s actually only been two years… and we built it where I grew up and so I kept telling the girls that when we move home we can get an outside dog,” he explained. “Kate started researching dogs because I said I don’t really care as long as they’re outside dogs we can bring in and that kind of stuff. So she found Great Danes…”

Little did he know, however, that Great Danes are not “outside” dogs.

“We put the down payment on not only one but two ‘cause we thought ‘Well it would be kinda cool to have a couple of them… extra protection,” he continued. “After we put the down payment, I was getting my hair cut by the guy who cuts my hair and I was telling him that we were getting two Great Danes and I was excited because even though I grew up where I grew up, I had never had outside dogs. He said ‘I love them. I just lost my fifth or sixth… but you know they’re not outside dogs, right?’ and I go ‘ha, whatever, I mean they get 200 pounds apiece. They have to be an outside dog.’”

“So long story short, we got two 200-pound inside dogs to add to the chaos that already is our lives with a new house, baby number 4 on the way, and a new tour and all of that stuff,” he concluded.

While the Moore family adjusts to all the big changes in life, the “Somebody Else Will” singer will continue his run out on the road co-headlining with his friend Lee Brice on their American Made Tour. For more information about the tour, visit Justin Moore’s official website.
