Mixing business with pleasure doesn’t always go over well, but Russell Dickerson got a special someone to direct his debut music video for his current single, “Yours.”

During a simple day out with his wife, Dickerson started just messing around with ideas for what the video shoot would look like. Rather than waste the golden opportunity, his lovely lady pulled out her camera and put on her director’s cap to make the music video in the moment. The best part of the whole spontaneous moment? The treatment took a mere $6 to throw together.

“She single handedly, she didn’t help, she just did it. She shot the video, she directed, edited, and everything. So you know it was just this cool moment. We went out just to shoot some test footage and see how that would go but then next thing we knew we were out there in a freaking thunderstorm and there’s lightning and this whole storm rolling in and it just pours down rain. But yeah it was crazy. We just kinda struck magic,” Dickerson told Sounds Like Nashville during a phone interview.

Capturing the beauty of nature with a thunderstorm erupting in the middle of the unplanned shoot, Dickerson thought there was no better way to emulate the beauty of the song with the gorgeous stormy backdrop. Even more so, the country singer never felt as satisfied when knowing that it wouldn’t be the same without his girl by his side.

Dickerson will be on the road for the Home Team Tour with Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini and Ryan Hurd for the spring. Tickets can be found on his website now.
