Hunter Hayes & Montgomery Gentry Offer Different Perspectives of CMA Awards

The Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN will be packed full of country music talent tomorrow night when the 45th Annual CMA Awards are held. The stars will range from country newcomers to the pros who have taken home countless awards over their lengthy careers. Hunter Hayes falls into the former category and he’s excited about the whole experience, especially seeing his fellow newcomers.

“I’ve never been, this is my first time. I’m pretty excited,” Hunter tells CountryMusicIsLove. “I’m going to be plotting what I can do next year if they let me on stage. I’ve gotten to be a part of a couple of award shows, but this is obviously a big deal for me! They have a lot of new artists this year, which I’m really excited about. That’s what I am looking forward to the most because there’s a whole new era of artists coming into country music and I’m really looking forward to seeing them perform for the first time. It’s going to be sweet.”

While Hunter soaks his in his first CMA experience, Montgomery Gentry will be attending as a nominee in the Vocal Duo of the Year category, a group that they’ve been included in for the last decade. For Eddie and Troy, being nominated year after year is validation that they’re still relevant in country music after so many years.

“Throughout our career, we’ve seen a lot of duos coming into play in that category,” Troy Gentry tells us. “It’s just still flattering to know that after this many years, the industry is still recognizing Montgomery Gentry and our talent and what we have to offer to the industry and to the country music market.”

Tune in to the 45th Annual CMA Awards tomorrow night on ABC to witness Hunter’s first CMA experience and to see if Montgomery Gentry takes home the Vocal Duo of the Year award!
