It’s been a long road for Canadian-born duo High Valley, but the journey has been well worth it. After growing up with six siblings in a small town in Alberta, Canada, brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel made their way to Music City to begin a journey in music. Until they arrived in Nashville, however, the two were far behind in their knowledge of current music and quickly found themselves trying too hard to fit in.

“A couple of years ago, we were trying hard to fit in with what was going on on country radio,” explained Brad. “About a year and a half ago, we were like forget it, let’s do what we’ve always done and we started making music like we used to when we were little kids.”

Their newfound attitude led them to their song “Make You Mine” and an eventual record deal with Warner Music Nashville. Now, the duo has released their major label debut album, Dear Life, one that the brothers are excited to share with families around the world.

“When we met all the Warner folks the first time, as a group, they asked us you know, what’s your biggest dreams? I said I’d love it if one day people saw a bunch of families all over downtown Nashville and said ‘oh, High Valley must be playing Bridgestone tonight because I see families everywhere.’ We’re all about family,” said Brad. “Our mom and dad had six kids and we did everything together.”

Watch as the duo talks about their journey from Canada to Nashville and why it’s important to them to keep their music family-friendly.
