Introducing… Jackie Lee

Jackie Lee - CountryMusicIsLove

Jackie Lee has known what he’s wanted to do for a living for quite some time: sing country music. He was only six years old when he went into cut songs with Carson Chamberlin, one of country music’s premiere songwriters, producers, and musicians (Keith Whitley, Easton Corbin).

And now, with Chamberlin behind the console again, he’s working on his debut for Broken Bow Records.

His debut single is “She Does,” which was written by two of Nashville’s finest hit-makers: Neil Thrasher (Carrie Underwood, The Band Perry) and Kelley Lovelace (Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood). Not only was Lee honored to be able to cut a song written by both of them, but it was also a song he fell in love with the song the moment he heard it.

“From the first time I heard the ‘She Does’ demo, I knew it had to be my debut single. I love everything about ‘She Does,’ from the content to the melody,” Lee tells CountryMusicIsLove.

It seems as though his song judgement is spot on as the song was the most added single at country radio when it dropped. The news definitely gave Lee a much-earned reason to celebrate.

“I walked into the record label, picked up Jon Loba (EVP of BBR Music Group) and spun him around the entire office,” he recalls.

The single is the only detail anyone knows about his upcoming debut album, but Lee assures everyone that the wait will be greatly rewarded.

“I feel like we have shown many sides of my musical taste,” explains Lee. “Benny Brown (President/CEO of BBR Music Group) really likes to make full albums that give the listener a full experience so it feels like they are getting their money’s worth.”

As the finishing touches are being put on the album, he’s been keeping himself busy. He’s currently on the road for the rest of the year visiting radio stations, and introducing himself to the rest of the country music world. He also recently made his ever-important debut on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, an experience he won’t soon forget.

“The entire Opry experience was overwhelming,” says Lee. “I just feel so honored and thankful that I was able to share the stage with artists that made me fall in love with country music to begin with.”
