For many artists, music is a means of expressing themselves in a creative way. For Jessie James Decker, music is not only a creative outlet but also a means of inspiring the many other projects she has her hands in.

The singer/songwriter already has her clothing line, Kittenish, as well as numerous products for hair and makeup, but she’s always looking to work on something in addition.

“I’ve always wanted to what I call ‘J-Lo it.’ I just want to have my hand in everything,” Jessie told Sounds Like Nashville. “I’ve always just been inspired by so many things and I’m not even finished yet. I want to do children’s lines. I want to do furniture and home design. I want to do more cooking and cookbooks and cooking shows. I just love doing so many different things and the one thing that ties everything together is music and I think if I wasn’t doing music, I don’t know if I would be inspired to do all the other things that I’m doing.”

While she enjoys working on her many different projects, her main goal is to show young women and girls that they can do it all too.

“I think my favorite part of all of this is that I feel like I’m helping young girls and I think that is something that I always wanted to accomplish, even at a very early age,” she explained. “I wanted to be an inspiration for women. I wanted girls to look up to me and I wanted to make them feel good about themselves and I think that through all of the different things that I’m doing, and all the businesses that I’ve kind of incorporated, I feel like I’m able to do that with everything, through my makeup or my hair products or clothing line or through my music. I feel like I just want to build confidence in women and I feel like I’ve been able to do that through everything that I’ve got going on.”
