Introducing… Sarah Davidson

Sarah Davidson - CountryMusicIsLove

Meet Sarah Davidson. Not only is this blonde bombshell one of Music City’s most buzzed about new female singer/songwriters, she’s also one of the stars of TNT’s new hit show “Private Lives of Nashville Wives.”

In addition to starring on the show, the Valdosta, Georgia native recently released her self-titled debut EP and is currently touring in support of her single, “Drink You Up.”

CountryMusicIsLove recently caught up with Davidson to discuss her debut single, her music influences, life on a reality show, and more. See what she had to say below…

CMIL: Can you tell us more about your debut single, “Drink You Up?”

SD: “Drink You Up” was written by Caitlyn Smith, Gordie Sampson, and Steven McEwan and is one of those songs that you the listener can instantly connect with. I fell in love with this song and knew that I wanted to record it. It has that first time falling feeling.

CMIL: What else can fans expect from your EP?

SD: They can expect to hear an honest depiction of my life over the last couple years. Love is the one thing that we all have either been in, want, found, or lost and I think those emotions run true through all of us so I wanted to share that story through this EP.

CMIL: You’ve been making music for quite some time now – how does it feel to have all of this sudden exposure and to have your music available to the masses?

SD: I’ve been in Nashville over 9 years and working hard so it is extremely rewarding to have get my music out there. It fuels and inspires me to continue to make music knowing I have people that I are connecting. That is what I want my life to be about, making music, and taking it out on the road to play for the people that like it.

CMIL: Who are some of our musical/songwriting influences?

SD: I grew up on country of the 90’s & 00′ so my idols are Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Martina Mc Bride, Reba, Shania, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, and the Dixie Chicks. Although, I’m also a huge fan of Tammy Wynette. I think she put so much emotion into her performances. Of course the country greats like Kitty Wells, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Dolly will always go down as the pioneers for the voice of females in country music.

CMIL: Everyone is talking about ‘Private Lives of Nashville Wives’ – what do you think about the response to the show so far?

SD: It’s been a really fun experience and I feel grateful to have been a part of it. I think that the people that have connected with the show and our own individual stories have been really supportive and it has been fun to hear everyone’s reactions. There’s always a comment here or there that hurts to read but I just take it with a grain of salt. I know that my life will be one of making and performing music regardless so I’m just trying to focus on putting all of my energy towards writing.
