Jake Hoot is officially engaged to his girlfriend Brittney Hoyt. The Voice winner shared news of the engagement on social media on Tuesday morning. The post includes a photo of Hoot and Hoyt from the engagement, as well as a snap of Hoyt showing off her ring with Hoot’s daughter, Macy.

“Here’s the big news!! I get to marry my best friend,” Hoot wrote alongside the post on Instagram. “The lyrics God blessed the broken road has never been more true! I’m so glad the God kept bringing us back together time and time again! And while its been tough keeping it all in over the past week, I’m so excited to spend the rest of our lives together! @brittneynicolehoyt I love you! And Mace was pretty excited too!”

Hoyt also shared the news on her Instagram, posting a photo of the moment Hoot got down on one knee and offered her the ring as their family looked on.

“My whole life I’ve prayed for my husband. The man I knew that God would hand craft just for me,” she wrote in the post. “I’ve dreamt a lot about what it would look like and feel like, but never in my wildest dreams did I think it could be this good, this fun, this easy, this filled with peace and joy. @jake.hoot.music you are far more than I ever dreamt of! I could not be more thrilled to get to spend the rest of my life loving you!”

According to an Instagram post from Hoot earlier this month, the couple have officially been dating for six months.

“Happy Birthday to my best friend! @brittneynicolehoyt for the last 6 months, you have not only loved me and Mace unconditionally, but you have made me a better man and dad,” he wrote. Hoot rose to fame in the country music world after winning season 17 of NBC’s The Voice with Kelly Clarkson as his coach. Hoot released his debut single, “Better Off Without You,” in December 2019.
