Former The Voice winner and country singer Jake Hoot is officially a married man! He tied the knot to his longtime girlfriend Brittney Hoyt on Sunday, March 7 at Saddle Woods Farm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

The couple had a sentimental ceremony that centered on their faith in God, as they began the day by praying together. They also had their friend Brian Nhira lead worship during the wedding, which the couple says brought “the focus back to the faithfulness of the Lord.” Hoot’s 5-year-old daughter Macy was part of the ceremony as well, and the couple not only wrote vows to each other, but they also said vows to Macy. During the vows, Hoot also surprised Hoyt by singing an original song called “Hallelujah.”

“I got very emotional reading my vows to both Brittney and Macy and then singing a song to my soon-to-be wife talking about my journey with her,” Hoot told People.

The ceremony included more music during the communion, as Hoyt’s siblings sang “When God Made You” by NewSong. That song is a special one to the couple — they sang it together as wedding singers when they first met eight years ago.

Hoot and Hoyt’s wedding attire complemented one another, as Hoyt wore a white v-neck wedding dress with a bouquet of white flowers and greenery and Hoot wore a black suit with a cream-colored tie. Hoot and his groomsmen also sported matching cowboy boots for the occasion. Hoot and Hoyt’s rings even hold significance to the couple. The diamond on Hoyt’s engagement right came from a friend and Hoot’s wedding ring came from his late grandfather.

The couple hosted their reception in a rustic barn decorated with ornate greenery and plenty of candles. For dinner, they had barbecue from Misson Catering and they ate homemade dessert made my Hoot’s sister, Katie. For their first dance, Hoot surprised Hoyt with yet another original song called “And Then Suddenly,” which was inspired by letters Hoyt wrote to Hoot. After the first dance, Hoot and his groomsmen surprised Hoyt and the guests with a fun dance, which ended in a humorous incident for the singer.

“During the dance, Jake’s pants ripped from top to bottom!” Hoyt says. “That made for a lot of laughter.

The couple took off for their honeymoon at Secrets Resort in Cancún, Mexico two days after their perfect day.

“We are so thankful we stayed around Nashville the first couple of nights to get rested up before coming to paradise here in Cancún,” they shared.

On top of getting married, Hoot is celebrating the release of his single, “I Would’ve Love You Too,” featuring Kelly Clarkson. The two teamed up for a heart-pounding music video, showcasing them passionately belting out the heartbreaking tune in an empty Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. “I Would’ve Loved You” is the lead single off his debut EP, Love Out of Time. The five-track project includes the poignant title track, “La Bamba” featuring Ricky Duran, and more.
