Jake Owen Re-Casts Real Life Love Interest In New Video
Jake Owen’s brand new video for his hot summer single “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” will premiere Monday, June 27 on CMT.
Fans may recognize a familiar face in the music video. That’s because model Lacey Buchanan, Jake’s love interest from his “8 Second Ride” music video, returns to the small screen with Jake for “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.”
A few years have passed since Jake and Lacey first met on the set of “8 Second Ride,” and now they are more than just video co-stars. “I didn’t ever wanna be the guy that falls in love with his video girl,” Jake admits, but it appears he is that guy.
According to reports, Jake and Lacey are definitely an item. He recently walked the red carpet at the 2011 CMT Music Awards with Lacey by his side and reportedly brought her to a private dinner at the home of Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman earlier this month.
In the “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” video, which was filmed at Center Hill Lake in TN, Jake and Lacey show off their wakeboarding skills. The wakeboarding, along with the on-screen chemistry, wasn’t something that Jake and Lacey had to work hard at.
“There was no acting whatsoever in this whole video,” Jake says. “It’s pretty interesting to look at your life on film and believe it. It’s real. You know, it’s really cool. It’s [a] good feeling.”
“Barefoot Blue Jean Night” was recently named CountryMusicIsLove’s No.1 song of Summer 2011. It is also the title track of Jake’s third studio album, due August 30.
