James Otto Performs With Musical Hero Ronnie Milsap On ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’

Warner Bros. Records' country-soul singer James Otto's Thanksgiving Day turned out to be a “late-night” as he joined his musical hero, country music legend Ronnie Milsap and the critically acclaimed hip-hop group The Roots for a soul-stirring performance on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Thanksgiving Day. The undeniably soulful musical match-up performed Otto's tune “Good Thing's Gone Bad.” Bringing out the old-school R&B grit in his powerhouse voice, this song is from Otto's current album, Shake What God Gave Ya, co-produced by Otto and Paul Worley. “Ronnie Milsap is one of my favorite artists of all time. I call him the Godfather of Country Soul,” shares Otto in a recent interview.” “He mixed classic R&B with country music and to great effect. Performing with him and the Roots on Fallon was exhilarating … a memory that I’m never going to forget. If I couldn't be with my family on Thanksgiving, this was the coolest possible thing I could have done!”

James Otto is 100 percent country, but he's also got a heart full of soul. And his signature soulful sound broke through with his smash hit, “Just Got Started Loving You”-which was declared the No. 1 country single of 2008 by Billboard. This track is from his album, Sunset Man, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart, scored three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and remained in the Top 5 Country Albums chart for six weeks after its release in April 2008. Last year, Otto won an ACM and CMA Award in the Song of the Year category as a co-writer for “In Color” (a track that also earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song).
